BERNIE 2016

In 2016, Bernie Sanders’ Art & Culture Outreach team flew me to Des Moines, Iowa and we didn’t know what would happen next—would the campaign continue, or not? It continued. I ended up following his campaign trail in Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, California, New York, Kentucky, Georgia and probably some states I can’t even remember. I was also running the Feminists for Bernie Instagram handle, and had a special passion for challenging the “Bernie Bro” narrative, which I never witnessed through my lens at the rallies that were never televised. I would look in all directions and see every walk of human life reflected before my eyes.
