In 2022, The Quiet Epidemic had its world premiere at Hot Docs Int’l Film Festival in their special presentations program, where it was voted into the Audience Top 20. The film screened at an additional 20+ film festivals (DOC NYC, Hamptons Int’l Film Festival, Woodstock Film Festival, Mill Valley Film Festival), which sparked a limited theatrical run across North America in association with First Run Features. The film had its theatrical premiere at IFC Center in New York City. As of 2023, can now watch The Quiet Epidemic at home. The film received positive press and reviews, was endorsed by celebrities (thanks, Mark Ruffalo, Christopher Meloni, Tommy Hilfiger, Thalía, Daryl Hall and Elena Delle Donne) and was even featured in a clue on Jeopardy. My co-director and I were awarded the NYWIFT Award for Excellence in Documentary Directing, and The Quiet Epidemic was awarded Best Documentary at DOCUTAH Int’l Film Festival, Macon Film Festival, and Adirondack Film Festival.
Following the film’s festival circuit and VOD release, I co-led The Quiet Epidemic’s impact campaign to leverage the film for change. To raise awareness about the cause and our mission, I’ve been interviewed on Morning Joe and PBS Newshour, for a written piece in TIME, and I penned an op-ed that was published in Newsweek. In April 2024, our impact team traveled to Washington, D.C. with Members of Congress with the support of actor Christopher Meloni (Law & Order SVU), artist Ally Hilfiger, and award-winning impact producer Bonnie Abaunza (Hotel Rwanda, Blood Diamond, Food Inc.). In November 2024, The Quiet Epidemic’s impact campaign culminated with a screening and expert panel discussion at the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center, hosted by Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and with bipartisan support.
“Does chronic Lyme disease exist? That’s the question that haunts The Quiet Epidemic, Lindsay Keys and Winslow Crane-Murdoch’s worthy and provocative documentary about the highly controversial syndrome. The filmmakers argue, with unflinching advocacy and some very good reporting, that chronic Lyme disease most definitely exists.” - Owen Gleiberman, Variety
"The Quiet Epidemic [is] a powerful and award-winning exposé about the hidden epidemic of Lyme disease and our for-profit healthcare system. From personal experience, Lyme disease can be brutal, persistent, and misdiagnosed. The healthcare industry is way behind on this disease." - Mark Ruffalo
“Through its masterful storytelling, The Quiet Epidemic does what any good investigative doc should do – it informs, infuriates, breaks your heart, and fills you with hope.” - Awards Daily
